CURRICULUM This course covers the Common Core State Standards for Algebra and 8th grade mathematics. Students will be expected to pass the same curriculum requirements and to pass the very same Algebra Final as the high school students. Those who do not pass will remain in Algebra next year and will have the benefit of a year of experience and exposure to the material. Those who pass the high school final could move onto Geometry or Accelerated Geometry.

CLASSROOM PROCEDURES Homework is due at the beginning of the period the day after it is assigned. Homework is to remain in a spiral notebook and will be checked for: Completeness with all work shown Work completed in pencil only and is in the proper format

CLASSROOM PROCEDURES Students should correct their homework daily with the solutions on Google Drive. All mistakes should be fixed and students should make note of any problems they still do not understand. We can discuss and clarify those confusing problems in class the following day. Students will submit a stapled packet of all corrected assignments at the end of the chapter. Credit will not be given toward their grade until the chapter packet is submitted and scored.

CLASSROOM PROCEDURES Students will complete a chapter notes handout in class during each lesson. The notes presented in class are also on Google Drive, in case of absence.

LATE WORK POLICY It is the student's responsibility to show the teacher any make-up work for credit and to refer to Google Drive for notes when absent. Absent work that is received before the Chapter Test will be given full credit. Late work that is received before the Chapter Test will be given half credit.
