What is an Adverb? An adverb is a word that modifies, or describes, a verb, an adjective, or another adverb. Ex: Explorers eagerly chase adventure. Ex: Some explorers visit amazingly beautiful places. What are the adverbs?

Adverbs answer four questions.
How? When? Where? To what extent? How? suddenly, carefully, sadly When? now, later, soon Where? there, up, ahead To what extent? completely, totally, fully

Comparison of Adverbs The original form of the word is the positive form. An adverb that compares one noun to another uses the comparative form. An adverb that compares three or more nouns to another uses the superlative form. Ex:
