UWBI- Risk Matrix as of 3/31
As part of the project management process, a list of key risks has been identified and assessed for probability and impact to the effort. Mitigation plans are being developed to lower the current assessment and decrease overall program risk. Probability Impact 1 5 11 1 Full funding for complete IR and EPM replacement not approved. May not have SFS or HRS data elements used by campuses in the RPD. 12 1 5 12 Merge Manager position may be difficult to fill given the complexity of merge administration Red Yellow Campuses are just getting started with development, solid plans are not in place and there is a risk they will not make it by April, 2018 10 5 11 In house OBIEE knowledge just ramping up 7 Green Current work on the conversion of the HRS shared queries is just beginning. There is a risk that they will not be available in time for campuses to recreate their custom reports. 10 2 3 Options for ad hoc query are not yet clarified. Visual analyzer is not yet available and BI publisher is a poor substitute. End users may default to other options. 7 These risks were generated by the project team – for discussion and alignment

UWBI Risk Matrix – as of 5/30
To facilitate discussion and tracking, the risks have been categorized into three areas. Adoption Risks in this category are related to the adoption and effective use of the OBIEE suite and the ability of the solution to fulfill the requirements identified as part of the initial selection of the software Schedule Risks in this category involve items that will prevent IR from being retired in April, 2018 Technical Support and Setup Risks in this category involve items that could jeopardize the setup and stability of the OBIEE environment or the ability to meet the technical requirements of the system

Adoption Risks As of 3/31 as of 5/23 Category Risk Description P I
As of 3/31 as of 5/23 Category Risk Description P I Risk Response Current Response Tasks Adoption Funding has not yet been approved to build a central Finance RPD for the campuses to build reports from. Campuses heavily rely on Finance data for day to day operations. If funding is not approved soon, there is a high probability campuses won't have time to rebuild their reports before April, 2018 deadline and will go in another direction. (Also a schedule risk) High Avoid 1. Options being developed to create a common RPD. SFS contributing 30k. End users will need appropriate training to enable them to use OBIEE effectively. UW-System does not currently have an effective structure to provide UW-System wide training. Medium Ad Hoc query capability is a top priority for many of the campuses. Decision is needed on tool to be used. Note that Oracle has indicated Visual Analyzer can be used for mashups. 1. Test ‘mash up’ features of Visual Analyzer; determine the degree to which they meet needs. (‘Mash up’ allows connection to RPD, loaded data sets, external spreadsheets, and perhaps external data sources. 2. Conduct ‘mash up’ demonstration and training in during July meetings.
7
Schedule Risks will be presented/discussed at 6/23 meeting.

Technical Support and Setup Risks
Risk Description P I Risk Response Current Response Tasks In house OBIEE Admin knowledge centrally and at the campuses is limited. Troubleshooting ability is limited and there is a high probability that future technical issues will be difficult to solve. Medium High Avoid 1. Huron technical support extended and available to all. 2. Asses risk after campuses start moving centrally and heavy report development begins UW Federated security model is somewhat complex. There is a risk that there will be continuing technical difficulties getting it to work within OBIEE. 1. Ignacio to cover Discuss 2-factor requirement, this is not part of current effort and will need to be scoped. The merge manager position may be difficult to fill given the complexity of merge administration. Huron is currently playing this role and there is a risk this role may not be filled by the end of the Huron contract on 7/31. 1. Interviews in progress, offer may be pending. Monitor closely effort after Platteville merges in. There is a risk of turnover of the technical staff. The security and merge management processes and procedures are complex, there is a risk that it wil be difficult to manage these efforts for the campuses. 1. Process in place, pilot and then reassess risk. There is no common UW security approach. Multiple logons, 2-factor authentication in some instances. There are multiple decision maker(s). It is not clear who should approve and the final solution may miss key requirements. 1. Discuss as governance committee issue, clarify who signs-off on security
