Types of engineering degrees
There are many different types of engineering majors that cover many different scientific areas. For example: Aerospace Engineering Biomedical Engineering/Bioengineering Civil Engineering Chemical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Nuclear Engineering Environmental Engineering

Choosing a major Purpose of the degree Why are you getting it?
Look at the degree as much of an investment as possible How will you use the degree? Job prospects

Writing for your future
If you cant write you cant succeed Learn to write so that anybody can understand it Take classes Get a book on writing.

Understand the difference between technical writing and regular writing.

Public Speaking Many times you will be in a position to support or defend your point of view If you cannot speak in public with confidence you will increase the difficulty of advancement The better you are the more opportunities you will have to speak.

Math Math is the foundation of engineering and science

Internships Getting an internship before working full time is a great way to see if you like the job first. Its beneficial to do it if possible while you are working full time too. This also allows you to determine if you need to prepare for a career change

Internships Internships are not guarantee for a full time job offer.
Look at it as an business investment.

Resume Building The only purpose of the resume is to get you the interview It should be short and to the point. If you are beginning your career education should be up front. List some accomplishments

Resume Building When putting together your resume imagine reading the some document 2000 times.
