Recruit and increase diversity to more closely align with our community and to be more multi-generational
Grow to at least 75 members - minimum of 4% additional inductees annually

Provide a better understanding of who & what Rotary is

2017 – 18 Goals:
Grow by 6% - to 65 members; 2 new female members & 2 new members <40 years old (starting at 61 members)
Establish a mentorship team
Quarterly (or as needed) new member meetings
Explore & trial alternate memberships
Implement EVERYDAY ROTARIAN
2017– 18 Goals:
Weekly meetings that are fun and informative with great speakers on diverse topics
3-4 club assemblies
At least 6 social and service activities that include significant others
Revise the club handbook to guide members and help them feel a part of the club
Help members tell the Rotary story
Routinely update & enhance website with photos/stories
Develop & maintain a Social Media strategy (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

4. New Generations Committee
Develop youth and young adult leaders through involvement in community and international service, community projects, and exchange programs that enrich and foster world peace and cultural understanding

Grow the impact we have on the community through 5 active STRIVE programs
2017 – 18 Goals:
Develop feedback loops to ensure continuous improvement in our programs
Explore opportunities at elementary and middle schools in our area to provide Rotary programs that are meaningful and sustainable
Continue support of the following programs:
Junior Rotarians at both Osseo and Maple Grove High Schools
STRIVE programs at Osseo, Maple Grove, Rockford, Champlin
Camp RYLA
Camp Enterprise
Ethics Workshop
Link Crew (MGHS) / Respect Retreat (OHS)
Students Connecting Through International Service
Engage youth in our community…..helping shape the next generation encouraging success thru ethical behavior, mentoring, engagement in serving their community and the value they receive when they give back (ie. paying it forward)
Focus support on STRIVE’s 2nd year at Champlin Park HS, making sure we have strong programs, enough mentors and looking for local champions to take over the program in the next 1-2 years
Explore opportunities at the area elementary schools in that our club could provide the volunteers for tutoring young students

5. Community Service Committee
Engage with the community to promote Rotary, and drive projects that will make a significant impact in the Maple Grove area

2017 – 18 Goals:
5K Walk/Run (Rotary Runs) event / beer bash – to create awareness and raise funds
Identify a signature project that will impact community life in MG; Central Park Fountain
Participate in Maple Grove Days – Grand Marshalls of parade, support parade, bed race
Gather school supplies for highest need elementary school
Provide approximately 800 dictionaries to 3rd graders in Maple Grove
Provide 1,000 hats and mittens to children in need
Build 20 beds for children in need
Conduct highway cleanups – 2X year
Monthly Mobility Worldwide build (aka PETS)
Plan food collection for CROSS
Support RI Tree Planting Project (One tree planted in MG for each member before Arbor Day 2018)

6. Vocational Service Committee

Encourage and foster high ethical standards in business and professions
Promote the worthiness of all occupations

Encourage members and engage the community in Rotary’s commitment to high ethics and strong leadership by example, projects & presentations
Share expertise, information and skills to our members that will enhance professional development, ethical practices, leadership skills and the value of all occupations
Educate club members regarding each members’ classification, profession and unique talents
2017 – 18 Goals:
Improve, promote and market the Rotary Club of Maple Grove Business Ethics & Leadership Award
Facilitate semi-monthly Classification Talks with the opportunity for members to share in-depth insights into their profession, changes, new development, and member’s passions. Focus on scheduling new members presenting their Classification Talk.
Organized presentations on ethics, leadership and professional development
Schedule off-site meetings at local businesses or organizations that will inform members and promote Rotary
Add two new active members to the committee team

7. International Service
Increase club and community global awareness of all cultures, customs, challenges and aspirations, by engaging in meaningful and sustainable projects

Involvement in at least two meaningful and sustainable international projects each year
At least 10% of members participating in international projects and share their experience with the club
Foster collaboration with people in need around the world
2017 – 18 Goals:
3 NEW projects to expand our global reach – including one possible grant application
Support Rotary International (ie. Polio+) and other D5950 clubs in their international efforts
Pursue an Area 4 International Project - develop partnerships and collaboration locally
Continued support:
Support Days for Girls to improve their quality of life, and opportunity for education
Produce, assemble, and ship 500 – 1,000 more hygiene kits for girls
Seek more member donations for increased support for KIVA Microfinance
Focus on Students Connecting Through International Service (Sasabe) will change from monetary to local hands-on engagement with local students as part of this program
Understand the needs of immigrants in our community, and collaborate with Community Service Committee to evaluate ways we can help them integrate more fully in their new environment
Days for Girls – provide hygiene kits to girls in needs that will Produce, assemble, ship 500 kit
Support efforts of Brooklyn Park to establish a “sewing center” in Bangladesh
KIVA Microfinance increase member donations by 10%
Sasabe playground project: educate the club on the impact a playground can have on a community, and engage the club in fundraising to support this project (with or without a district grant)
Support Rotary International (ie. Polio+) and other D5950 clubs in their international efforts - develop partnerships and collaboration

8. Fundraising Committee
Ensure the long -term sustainability of the club by raising sufficient funds to support key initiatives

2017 Gala – raise $60,000 thru increased sponsorship, attendance, donations and silent auction bidding
Assist with 5K Walk/Run & Beer Bust event
Assist with STRIVE fundraising dinner and growth of Mark Luhmann fund
Support KIVA (10% growth) and Students Connecting through International Service fundraising
Research other opportunities for fundraising to support club initiatives

9. Maple Grove Rotary Foundation
Ensure the long term sustainability of the club by raising sufficient funds to support our key initiatives
Maple Grove Rotary Foundation
5 Year Vision:
Long Term Fund (LTF) assets increase 25% over the next five years
Maintain a minimum account balance equal to five time Foundation commitments
Every member a Paul Harris Fellow
Leadership in processing annual Paul Harris Fellow awards
Continued involvement in, and leadership of fundraising activities, eventually assuming fundraising committee function
2017 – 18 Goals:
Create an operations manual for the Foundation
One additional Paul Harris Fellow award each successive year
Effective on-going internal communication about Rotary International
Add second endowment fund
