My Pilgrimage Prologue
On February 19th, when the winter blues had set in deep, my friends and I left for Myrtle Beach in a Jeep Cherokee, airport bound and ready to fly. Our first stop would be Charlotte, then D.C. before touching down at London’s Heathrow Airport. With me I carried four friends with whom I could travel now and then, near and far, at home and abroad. Before I take my story further, let me tell you who they were, what they do, and why they’ll be traveling along with you know who… First, there is Jalisa. The finest friend is she; one who loves our language and even history. She is the perfect traveling friend, for I never have to worry about arguing or making amends. She loves to read and watch movies about the places we will go; I couldn’t think of anyone else who would enjoy this trip prologue. Then, there is Bobbie, no one is more fun than she, though literature and history aren’t her really quite her thing. She cares more about shopping, partying, and the social scene. Since partying is what she likes, she goes her own way; sometimes this sparks a fight. But I couldn’t leave her out, or feelings would be hurt, so that’s why I’m off to London with a friend whom I hope won’t act like a jerk.

My Pilgrimage Prologue
Then, there is Casey. Another great friend is she, also a teacher, and a fun, fun, friend for me. Unlike Bobbie, Casey likes to read, see the sights, and gain some culture before we have to leave. Sometimes Casey gets crazy when she’s having fun. I just hope it won’t make her lazy while we’re on the run. I saved the best for last, my sister and my Friend, for whom this experience may be the best in the end. She’ll enjoy the sights and appreciate most of all, the castle which bears our name, though it’s not written on the wall. Since my trip begins tomorrow, I must be on the run. I have to catch a flight, so I can begin my fun. This trip will make the memories to last a lifetime through and give me the stories that I can share with you. We’ll begin our journey in London, and we’ll remain a while. Then, we’ll travel to Canterbury. Yes, that’s right. Try not to smile. It’s not just because I teach it; this island contains my roots, which is why I’ll travel to Scotland to see where my ancestors tread their boots. I can’t wait to see the castles or to watch the plays; this is such an exciting journey where I’ll spend the next fourteen days. Take a moment to consider where your journey make take you. It could be Africa or Iowa; the rest is up to you!!
