Educational Access Scheme (EAS)
University is a place where adults can go to learn new and exciting things! The Educational Access Scheme helps to create a more fair and level playing field for everyone. The University Admissions Centre (UAC) website contains information relating to the EAS. Under this scheme, participating institutions either set aside a certain number of places for EAS applicants or allocate bonus points. Disadvantages covered by the scheme include: Disrupted schooling Financial hardship Home environment and responsibilities English language difficulty Personal illness/Disability Refugee status School environment The EAS booklet contains detailed information and is available for download. The Schools Recommendation Scheme, TAFE and other alternative pathways to university
If you apply to university using the Schools Recommendation Scheme, factors other than an ATAR are taken into account.
