In 2007, 27% of 11th graders at Roosevelt in East L.A. scored proficient on the English CST. In the same year, 84% of 11th graders at Mira Costa High in Manhattan Beach scored proficient or higher on the English CST. What do you notice about these scores? Why do you think Roosevelt students got these scores? Why do you think Manhattan Beach students received these scores? Is it okay for these scores to be so different?
