when Jesus said in Mt 28 ‘..and lo I am with you always…’, He was telling the disciples that it would be His ever abiding presence, in the person of the Holy Sprit upon them; that would empower them to be effective in ministry

Act 1:4 KJV And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

‘Power’ dunamis [doo'-nam-is] force (literally or figuratively); specifically miraculous power (usually by implication a miracle itself): - ability, abundance, meaning, might (-ily, -y, -y deed), (worker of) miracle (-s), power, strength, violence, mighty (wonderful) work.

13. MINISTERING IN POWER Jesus wants us to minister in power
Jesus wants us to be like Him and do the works that he did (Jn 14:12)

14. HOW JESUS DID THE WORKS
Luke 4:18 KJV The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

15. JESUS DID NOT ATTEMPT MINISTRY BEFORE…
Jesus did the works because of the Spirit of the Lord (anointing) upon Him
Jesus never attempted ministry before the anointing
Jesus commanded the disciples not to attempt ministry before receiving the anointing

16. WHAT IS THE ANOINTING
The presence of God upon our lives, enabling us to do the works of God (Jn 14:12)
The power of God transmitted through the Holy Spirit (Ac 1:8)

17. THREE LEVELS OF ANOINTING
The presence of God among us (Mt 18:20)
The presence of God inside of us (1 Jn 2:27)
The presence of God upon (Lk 4:18)

18. PURPOSE OF THE ANOINTING
Luke 4:18 - preach, heal, preach deliver, bring recovery of sight, set at liberty
Act 10:38 - do good, healing the oppressed

19. PURPOSE OF THE ANOINTING
Isaiah 10:27 - to remove burdens and destroy yokes
Acts 8:5ff - to open up cities and nations to the impact of the gospel

20. PURPOSE OF THE ANOINTING
Luke 10:19 - to exercise dominion and authority over the power of darkness
1 Corinthians 2:4,5 - that peoples faith and focus should not be on us, but on God

21. ASPECTS OF THE ANOINTING
The anointing is measurable
Elisha’s double portion
Act 4:33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

22. ASPECTS OF THE ANOINTING
The anointing is transferable
Mark 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
Luke 6:19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.

The anointing can be hindered
Mark 6:5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
AMP And He was not able to do even one work of power there, except that He laid His hands on a few sickly people [and] cured them

The anointing can be lost – Saul
The anointing can be regained – Samson
The anointing works more when we are flexible to God’s move – Matthew 9:16,17

The anointing will turn you into another man
1Samuel 10:6 And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man

You can be refilled with the anointing
Psalms 92:10 - fresh oil
Ephesians 5:18 - be filled with the Spirit
