Importance of academic advising in your major
The advisor is a link between the student and University They help us transition, learn, set goals, organize and develop time management Academic advising also helps a student to see that general education courses are not a checklist but rather an interconnected network where your general education courses meet your major courses. = a class is open, you can add it to your cart = a class has filled up, you cannot add it to your cart TIP:-Add every option into your cart for a specific class -Have multiple plans -enroll exactly at the time you have been assigned when making your schedule, add every option it has for the days and times because classes fill up and you won’t always get the classes you want. It’s important to have multiple plans to fall back on when some of your classes start filling out RACHEL

Who are all of the people under your success network
Who are all of the people under your success network? & What if all of my professors are not listed? First off: to enter starfish you can access through ecampus or simply use the link. You will sign in with your ecampus username and sakai password. This is what a success network looks like. For mine I only have a couple of Professors and advisors listed. Simply, if your other professors are not listed, they might have not set up a starfish yet. So don’t worry about it. You can always your professor or advisor if they are not listed, if you need to set up a meeting to talk or appointment What’s good is that your professors can talk to each other though starfish and say you aren't coming to class, one of your professors may reach out to the other to see if you are not showing up to theirs either.

second grade option You can find the second grade option form at uri.edu/advising Second grade option is always good to know, I used this for my Precalc class freshman year. Basically you can repeat a class by second grade option if you received a C-, D+, D-, or an F. But what is important to know is that second grade option will only apply to courses within your first 30 credits taken at the University. (no later than 2 next semesters after that course) You must obtain approval from the academic deans and submit the appropriate form to the Office of Enrollment Services prior to midterm of the semester in which the course is being repeated. The Second Grade Option may be used only once per course.
