2 Introduction The Internet is a global networks' system that consist of the millions of local area networks (LANs) and computers (hosts). So it's a tech system that is working according to the basic computer science concepts and rules. It was developed years ago.

3 USSR launches Sputnik into space
USSR launches Sputnik into space. In response, the USA creates the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) with the mission of becoming the leading force in science and new technologies. 1957 In 1969, two years before the calculator was introduced to consumers and the year after National Public Radio was established. The precursor of the Internet, ARPANET, was born. It connected four sites at the University of California at Los Angeles, the University of California at Santa Barbara, Stanford Research Institute, and the University of Utah. 1969 1972 There were computers connected at about two dozen sites when the first was sent.

4 1975 There were 63 sites. 200 host computers were connecting 20,000 people at university, military, and government locations. Twelve years later the number of hosts had grown to more than a million internationally, and in January of 1999 there were more than 43 million. 1980 BITNET, created by IBM, "Because It's Time NETwork" Started as a cooperative network at the City University of New York, with the first connection to Yale 1981

Gopher, which provides point-and-click navigation, is created at the university of Minnesota and named after the school mascot. Gopher becomes the most popular interface for several years. 1991

Internet Worm, called MyDoom or Novarg, spreads through Internet servers. About 1 in 12 messages are infected. 2005 YouTube.com is launched. 2006 There are more than 92 million websites online.

8 Conclusion With the development of the World Wide Web, it is easy to overlook one of the most beneficial aspects of today's Internet. It is above all a communication tool--one which allows teachers and students to communicate with other students, colleagues and specialists. Contrary to the fears that many have expressed about the dehumanizing effects of such a technology. The Internet shows us as much about how people relate to one another as about how they react to technology.
