1 “Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom.”
“The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young minds for the purpose of satisfying it afterwards.” Anatole France “Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom.” George Washington Carver

2 Animal Farm George Orwell does a phenomenal job in emphasizing the importance of education in his allegorical and satirical novel Animal Farm. The animals of Manor Farm feel oppressed by the humans who run the farm and take advantage of their labor. They stage a revolution and run the humans off, leaving themselves free to govern themselves. The pigs, especially the leader Napoleon, take more and more power for themselves, while the rest of the animals continue to suffer.

3 Education Education is universally recognized as one of the most fundamental building blocks for human development and poverty reduction. The most uneducated of all the animals on Animal Farm are the sheep. The pigs were able to teach the sheep as a simple yet critical tactic in taking control over the Animal Farm. Lack of education in society will constantly allow the educated to prevail and rule over the uneducated. Due to their lack of education, they are often taken advantage of in their work through unjust salaries and work hours. Through lack of education, particular beliefs can be persuaded into the mind of a person.
