Adit Patel Detroit Mercy ASDA Mission Trip Chair The goal is for you try to bring this trip back to your ASDA- this organizations wants more dentists to go and help. There is a major lack of dentists. Their current norm of treatment is pulling teeth and replacing the teeth with implants or dentures

Overview Who Went Worked with PrayAmerica Price: $1600
16 Dental Students (8 3rd years and 8 4th years) 2 Professors 1 General Dentist and 1 Periodontist 1 hygienist Worked with PrayAmerica Chichicastenengo, Guatemala They NEED MORE DENTIST Price: $1600 $800- flights $700- to PrayAmerica for food, stay, and translators $100- for adventures and additional hotel nights

Why you should set this up?
These people NEED help Guatemala has shown one of the largest increases in number of individuals living on less than $1 per day. With an approximate department population of 777,000, approximately 197,000 (26%) are “very poor,” with annual incomes of less than $401 per year. An additional 426,000 (55%) of the total population are categorized as “poor,” with incomes of $812 per year. Dental Experience We saw 253 patients We extracted 328 teeth LOTS OF CLEANINGS Can Restore teeth if you want to set it up Community Outreach Oral Health Instruction Next Year: Building a home Peoples teeth are bombed out- there is a major lack of Oral Health

Schedule Day 1: Arrive in Guatemala City. Relax at the Hotel
Day 2: Clinic from 8-5: OHI Trip Day 3: Clinic from 8- 5: OHI Trip Day 4: Clinic from 8-5: OHI Trip Day 5: ½ day clinic/ ½ day Market Day Day 6: Fun Day + Hotel Night Day 7: Flight home All transportation is included unless Alternatives Morning Hikes- 6am Zip-lining Volcano Hike

Step 1: Schedule Pay $1,000 Deposit around 1 year prior to the date of this mission trip We went August 5th to the August 12th Step 2: Fundraising/Sponsorships $1,500 from Dental One a corporate dental company we got about $1,500 worth of dental materials and instruments from Henry Schein $1,870- from a crowdfunding site set up by Nicole Hsieh. This money was all former alumni IMPORTANT 10 lights from SurgiTel 6 lights from Q-optics
