8 PROJECT GOALS Enhance public safety, reduce recidivism, and reduce incarceration rates by reducing criminal behavior/recidivism among participating offenders Reduce the costs associated with re-arrest, criminal case processing, and incarceration of HCWC participants Use evidence based practices to enhance participants well-being and promote self-sufficiency while they reside in the community and rebuild their lives Conduct outreach to inform the public about the benefits of therapeutic courts Complete and document an annual team review of P&P, contracts, and handbooks Conduct team trainings to assure best practices are used

CINA Cases - Families with substance abuse addictions Long Term Jail Sentence with addictions Individuals facing felony convictions with diversion First time felons

10 HCWC is divided in to Four Phases
Phase 1 – Trust Phase – orientation and assessment (just show up and be honest) Phase 2 – Belonging Phase – education and service planning (let’s work on work and learn about learning) Phase 3 – Living Well Phase – skill development and feedback (learn new skills and build confidence in yourself) Phase 4 – Restorative Phase - Maintenance and Transition (maintaining your sobriety and transitioning to a truly healthy lifestyle

11 Treatment Program Consists of:
Intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment Intensive supervision probation Frequent UAs (3x per week in beginning) Weekly court hearings and core team meetings Program lasts at least 18 months

12 OPTIMUM OUTCOMES FOR PARTICIPANTS
Life time sobriety Reunification with family/healthy family environment and peer group Avoid additional future charges Avoid possible felony convictions Avoid incarceration Be gainfully employed Become a mentor to other participants
