3 The Student Tennis Network is …
“ … a new programme designed to act as a catalyst for British Tennis’ future workforce”

4 The Opportunity … Opportunity to engage with various British Tennis employees, and gain insights into their roles Mentoring phone calls 3 x year Opportunity to develop your own employability skills through CV building training and completing an agreed tennis project Skill Development Workshops Opportunity to develop and lead on a project to develop your skills International trips for selected individuals to Spain and France Potential work placement opportunities within British Tennis Opportunity to learn from the other students from other colleges, universities who are in a similar position to you

5 Criteria … Currently studying Strong interest in Tennis
Experience of leading on / assisting on a Tennis project (either paid or volunteer role) In either of these roles currently, University Tennis Co-ordinator, University Tennis Ambassador, College Tennis Activator or College Tennis Ambassador Committed to attending national training events Committed to completing an on-line training programme on my training diary and contributing to the evaluation of the programme

6 On Line Training Programme …
On my training diary, 4 sections; Career Development Skill Development Work Development Evaluation

7 Career Development … January / February
Each student to identify two potential career routes of interest to them Interview two employees from British Tennis who are in similar roles to assess what skills are needed in these roles Evaluate the interview calls Choose your preferred career route Mentoring call

8 Skill Development … March / April / May
Identify 3 workplace skills that you would like to develop Complete an action plan in conjunction with your mentor to develop these skills Development workshops Mentoring call

9 Work Development … May / June / July
In consultation with your mentor develop a participation project It could be a one off event (such as a GBTW event) or a series of events (taster sessions) or a work placement within a club or county Complete an action plan to show where your project has impact, and what skills will be required to make it a success

10 Mentoring … Each student to receive 3 mentoring calls lasting 1 hour, and 1 call per development area Each call to focus on; Career development Employability skills Support with the programme

11 Workshops … In the skill development there will be a number of workshops that you will be encouraged to attend to develop your employability skills such as; CV Development Presentation Skills Women and Girls A small amount of funding will be available to contribute to travel costs

12 Evaluation Evaluation included in each development area, reflecting on your journey and your employability skills (very personal to you) Programme Evaluation Feedback your experience of being on the programme (positives and negatives) Experience of mentoring calls / workshops Be part of a focus group to help shape the programme for future years, including presenting at University Training 2018

13 Next Steps … Action Dates Launch at University Training
6th to 8th September Applications Open 11th September Applications sent to Applications Close 13th October Applications confirmed if on the Programme 4th December Programme Starts January 2018
