Social Studies General Information:
Tests – study guides will be given at the beginning of each chapter to give students ample time to prepare for the test Project based units – all projects will be completed in class. Few materials will need to be provided by the students Our World – published by Macmillan/McGrawHill is the text book for this class. This book is to be kept at home since a book is provided in class. Class work – each student can earn up to 3 points on a daily basis for class preparation, participation and respect/cooperation Grades- will be weighted

Vacation/Absence Policy
Homework Policy No late homework accepted When a student is absent, it is their responsibility to check website prior to return, collect make up work during homeroom, and make arrangements for tests and quizzes. Tests and quizzes can be made up at the after school work center (Tuesdays and Thursdays) or during Access. Vacation/Absence Policy Prior approval for vacation needed Students have five days upon return to turn in missed assignments

KO Kash Program This program is designed to encourage good behavior, respect for self and others, independence, and responsibility. Students “pay” to participate in “Celebration of Success” activities Kash-Kart: Students are able to purchase school supplies with their Kash Each student received $5 at start of program and have opportunity to earn money throughout year for tests, attendance, acts of kindness, etc. Students must pay in order to go to their locker, “buy” a lost worksheet, pay when tardy, etc.
