1. Recycled watering can
Finding alternative uses for our household rubbish can be a great way to help the environment. Why not turn your old plastic milk cartons into handy watering cans?
You will need:
A plastic milk carton, washed and dried
A nail or pin
Non-toxic outdoor craft paint e.g. DecoArt Patio Paint or Americana Multi-surface paint
Paint brushes
1. Make sure your milk carton has been washed and dried thoroughly. Decide on a design for your watering can. You could paint it all one colour or experiment with multiple colours and pictures. I’ve chosen rainbows and daisies to decorate my watering cans. Paint the outside of the carton and leave to dry. Apply more coats if needed.
2. Ask an adult to make some holes in the lid of your milk carton for you using a sharp nail or pin. Don’t make the holes too big or the water will rush out too quickly.
3. Place the lid back on your decorated carton and fill with water before using as a watering can.
