2. Phonics SIPPS - Systematic Instruction in Phonological
Awareness, Phonics, and Sight Words
Differentiated to meet each child’s needs
The second grade team works together to group the children according to their needs. Your child may receive SIPPs instruction with another second grade teacher.

3. Vocabulary Words from the areas of Language Arts,
Math, Science, and Social Studies
Covers concepts and skills
Words introduced in class
Lists cover two weeks
List will be ed to you as well as available on website
Tests will be on alternate Wednesdays

4. Classroom Testing Schedule
Tests will be given on Wednesdays for the following:
Cold Read/Comprehension
Vocabulary/Context Clues and
Spelling will be on alternate
Wednesdays.
Other content area tests will be given after completion of the unit.
