What is a Modern Apprenticeship?
You learn on the job You gain a qualification Work combined with college/training provider You get paid Developing valuable employability skills

Graduate Level Apprenticeships
Similar to a MA but you will spend some time at university Working, learning & earning at the same time Improves your chances of being employed at the end of your degree

Who offers apprenticeships?
There is a wide range of apprenticeships on offer from a broad range of employers. These include large employers such as the NHS and Babcock Marine as well as small employers such as a local hairdressers.

What qualifications do I need?
This varies greatly depending on the apprenticeship. Some may ask for Nat 4s, some Nat 5s and some a combination of both. A graduate apprenticeship would require Highers and entry requirements would be likely to be in line with the university requirements Specific subjects also vary depending on the apprenticeship. An Engineering Apprenticeship is likely to require Maths and Physics but a Television Production Assistant requires Higher English

Skills Most apprenticeships require you to have specific skills as you will be working with colleagues and customers/clients from the beginning of your apprenticeship. Skills asked for may include: Communication Organisation IT Teamwork Ability to take the initiative

How do I find a MA? Advertised like jobs throughout the year

How do I apply? Applications are usually online.
Take time to do this accurately As with all applications, sell yourself! The application process can be very competitive so don’t rule yourself out by not following instructions or getting someone to read over it
