MEDIA
At the beginning the most important newspapers and TV channels ignored the protests. International newspapers (The Washington Post, New York Times…) covered the new and after that Spanish newspaper begin covering the protests. (Manipulation: undermined and criminalized the movement)
CENTRAL ELECTION ASSEMBLY
They banned the protests because they would affect the municipal and autonomic elections of 22/05/2011.
GOVERNMENT
Initially they ignored it. Then they ordered for the squares to be vacated.
