At A level you get the chance to complete a Portfolio of Work and a ‘Personal Investigation’. Both components present you with the opportunity to develop work in any area – selected by you. What other subject offers you the chance to study what you want?! Your art work doesn’t just highlight your art skills, but how you: Work to a Project Brief Present a Personal Response Take Care / Pride in your Work Develop your Own Ideas Practise and Persevere Reflect and Amend Solve Focus, Adapt and Refine Engage and Work with Others Independently Research Pay Attention to Detail CREATE! A Level ART Component 1 : Portfolio / Personal Investigation No Time Limit [Sept of Year 12 until February of Year 13] 60% of A Level Component 2: Externally Set Assignment Preparatory period [February until May of Year 13] + 15 hours supervised time 40% of A Level Local Landscape, Burton-on-Trent Year 13, Final Piece, Acrylic Paint Year 12, Final Pieces, Mixed Media

What Will I Study? You will follow a course in Fine Art – drawing and painting. This course follows on from AQA GCSE Art & Design (Fine Art). How will I Learn? Through instruction, demonstration, experimentation, research, guidance, evaluation, reflection and gallery visits. How will my work be assessed? Your work will be continually assessed through a variety of methods: Verbal Feedback, written feedback, peer assessment and self reflection. Each unit is GREAT marked at the end.
