5 Armed Services Vocational Aptitude battery
a nationally normed, multi-aptitude test battery, to high school and postsecondary schools since 1968

6 A common challenge My students do not want to take a test associated with the military.
“First, remind students that the high-school version of the ASVAB is not primarily for use by the military. In fact, in a national survey, most participants in the ASVAB Program stated that they were not interested in joining the military. Then, emphasize that the ASVAB Career Exploration Program can give students an idea of their current interests, strengths and weaknesses, and help them learn about a wide range of careers regardless of their post-high school plans.” (ASVAB Counselor Manual)
