3 INTRODUCTION - MONOGRAPH OF CÔTE D’IVOIRE

4 INTRODUCTION The Electrotechnical Committee of Côte d'Ivoire joined the IEC affiliated countries program in 2003 and after exhausting this option, it becomes affiliated plus in 2012 which allowed it to go from 200 to 400 standards. He then benefited from a mentoring of the electrotechnical committee of France in He has a strategic plan with 4 strategic axes and specific objectives and plans to be more active within the IEC family by being a member partner in 2017. 7 UF 31 : Equipment for explosive atmospheres
Mentoring activities- Training Workshop at AFNOR from 5 to 12 March 2017 The delegates of the Electrotechnical Committee of Côte d'Ivoire met with their counterparts from France and participated in the work of the standardization commissions on : UF 31 : Equipment for explosive atmospheres UF 64 : Electrical installations and protection against electric shock UF 86 : Fibre optics 7

This mission allowed the exchange on technical, operational, organizational and financial questions of the electrotechnical committee and made contacts with French specialists on the subjects tackled. Also, this mission allowed the Preparing with the mentor, the national workshop in Côte d'Ivoire on the promotion of electrotechnical standardization. 8

This workshop allowed us to continue the visits of companies initiated in 2016 with the main structures of the sector but this time with the participation of our Mentor, the National Committee of France and the IEC-AFRC, which we thank very much. Meeting with the Director General of CODINORM the 24th April 2017 Meeting with the Chief of Staff of Industry and Mines Ministry the 21st April 2017 12

After the opening ceremony, a visit to the exhibition stands was organized. Then, an inaugural conference in connection with the African Year of Quality Infrastructure on topic : "Côte d'Ivoire's Infrastructure and Standardization" was made by the President of AFSEC, Mr. KOUTOUA CLAUDE. 13

After that, the committee devoted itself to a training battery on Standardization and conformity assessment to the IEC issued by the French National Committee, the mentor and the IEC-AFRC. 14

15 Experiences in the control of electrical installations (LBTP)
Mentoring activities- National Workshop at Abidjan from 24 to 26 April 2017 It should also be noted that Four corporate presentations were made on: Counterfeiting Electrical Equipment in Africa: Schneider Electric's Experience Ensuring compliance of electrical equipment : experiences of a manufacturer (SICABLE) Experiences in the control of electrical installations (LBTP) Application of Standards and Conformity Assessment: Experience of an Electricity System Operator (CIE) All this was crowned by television interview As results obtained, we have: 15

16 50 companies represented ; 10 stands and exhibitors ;
Mentoring activities- National Workshop at Abidjan from 24 to 26 April 2017 At the level of the moral report, the following salient points were noted : 227 participants ; 50 companies represented ; 10 stands and exhibitors ; 186 experts identified with a view to establishing the inventory of experts. 20 FUTURE PROSPECTS At this time, our application for membership as an IEC associate member has been submitted; We are continuing efforts to stabilize financial autonomy and ensure planned activities; We continue to mobilize for the more active involvement of national stakeholders. 20

21 RECOMMENDATIONS Members and affiliates must work closely with the IEC-AFRC for our area; Affiliates must use the benefits of the program that are beneficial to our countries; Affiliates must maintain and continue the good collaboration with the Affiliate Secretariat. 21

22 CONCLUSION We would therefore like to thank the IEC for organizing the affiliate program, the affiliate secretariat, which has been very supportive, the French Mentor who spared no effort to support us and the IEC AFRC which strongly supports us in our way, all the affiliated countries with whom we have had very good relations since 2003. We must do everything to play a more active role in our common family by becoming an IEC member. 22
