State Cancer Plan Implementation
2
Overview of State Cancer Plan
Utah Comprehensive Cancer Prevention and Control Plan (State Cancer Plan) UCAN and the Utah Comprehensive Cancer Control Program revise the plan every five years. The Plan provides direction for those involved in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of cancer control efforts. Four UCAN Priorities (Cancer Screening, Physical Activity & Nutrition, Skin Cancer, Survivorship & Quality of Life) Each UCAN Priority area includes a set of evidence-based goals, strategies, and action steps. The State Cancer Plan will be implemented through a project-based approach

What These Projects Are Not
Sponsorships Sponsorships are for a one time event to support an organization Do not implement the State Cancer Plan Mini-grants These are mostly for Local Health Departments Not meant to implement the State Cancer Plan RGA $20,000 grants These are bigger projects that reach requirements of Utah Cancer Control Program grants. Because of the source of funding, there are several restrictions and do not allow for a lot of flexibility
