Video Consulting: Availability
Video consults are available for members from 7:00am to 9:00pm local time, 7 days per week. Unlike phone consults, all video consults are scheduled. Video Consult Child Consult Hearing Impaired Patient plus Guardian

Access to Video Log on to the provider site and you will see two queues: Consult Queue (telephone consultations) Scheduled Queue (video consultations) The nurse on-duty will call you to confirm your availability for a video consultation before adding the request to your Scheduled Queue. Simply “Lock” the request, and click “Select” to begin the video consultation. You can access the video consultation 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. You will be asked to allow the site to access your camera and microphone. Select “Allow” to continue.

Video Tips When possible, place your video camera on your monitor above where the video window appears on the screen. This improves the perception of eye contact. Beware of the “gaze angle”. Just like being in person, it is important to look up at the camera to maintain eye contact with the patient. Maintain eye contact. Keep the area well lit by adding a desk lamp in front of your face just behind the monitor. Turn on the light.

Video Tips Wear proper clothing.
Muted solid colors, like pale blue or yellow work best when presenting. Avoid bright whites and contrasting patterns such as stripes or checkered prints. Wear proper clothing. It is best to slow down your natural hand or head movements, and use slow, smooth gestures to avoid appearing jumpy. Slow down. A security warning will display asking you to allow the video to access your webcam and microphone. To stop this warning from displaying, right click the video window and select “Settings”. On the Privacy tab, check the “Remember” box under “Allow”. Close the “Settings” Window. Remove security warnings.

Convert Consult from Video to Phone
If necessary, you can also change the consult type from a video to a telephone consult without rescheduling the member. Click the “Change Consult Type” icon. If the patient requests a change, or you need to overcome a technical difficulty, you can switch to audio by telephone simply by calling the patient. This changes billing and record-keeping and removes the video window. Your screen stays connected to the patient’s record. Call the patient and complete the consult by the phone.

Video Window The video window will display a larger image of the patient and a smaller image of you.

Video Window Video Tab: contains the video window and buttons to control your video consultation experience. Audio On/Off: click this button to turn the PC audio off. Use the slider to adjust the volume level. Video On/Off: click this button if you want to turn off your webcam. Connect: if you lose your connection with the patient, click this button to reestablish the connection.

Video Window Images Tab: shows you all of the pictures the patient has taken during the consult. Click a picture to view the full size. Help: click the Help icon to access the video consultation FAQ page.

Technical Support If you are having issues with your video consultation, click the link below the video screen. This screen will give you the ability to send a note to the Video Support Team. You can also call for immediate assistance.
