Going back to Canaan the Israelites went through the Sinai Desert.

Where Moses is thought to have received the Torah During their journey the Hebrew Bible says Moses went to the top of Mount Sinai and received the law of God known as the Torah

Torah- Laws of God According to the Hebrew Bible God would return them to Canaan if the kept the covenant of the Torah. Covenant- An agreement with God.

Torah explained what God considered was right and wrong. Part of the Torah was the 10 Commandments

The Ark of the Covenant was said to hold the 10 commandments

Joshua took over as leader of the Israelites after Moses and led them into Canaan

9 The Promised Land Joshua conquered Jericho with the sound of the 7priest’s horns and the loud shout of the Israelites brought down he walls.

11 The Promised Land After the death of Joshua, the Israelites looked to judges for leadership. The Hebrew Bible speaks of Barak, Gideon, Samual, Eli, Samson and Deborah

15 Phoenician Alphabet One Phoenician idea was an Alphabet with symbols that stood for sounds. It helped people keep records.

They brought the alphabet to the Greeks who in turn brought it to the Romans
