Parkinson’s Disease Parkinson’s Disease- a chronic, progressive nervous system disease that causes problems in body movements

Parkinson’s Disease Cause:
1. Degeneration of nerve cells that produce dopamine, a neurotransmitter that affects motor movements.

Parkinson’s Disease Main Symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease:
1. Tremors- shaking or trembling of the hands, arms or legs 2. Muscle stiffness- severe limitation of movement 3. Bradykinesia- slow movement 4. Impaired balance- stooping and instability when standing

Parkinson’s Disease Treatment: 1. Drugs- Levodopa 2. Physical therapy
3. Occupational therapy 4. Speech therapy
