The Town Review The Town is about a group of notorious gangsters from Charlestown, Boston who plan on robbing a prestigious bank in the town. After robbing the bank and escaping a thrilling police chase, Doug MacRay, played by Ben Affleck, falls in love with one of the bank workers they held hostage. Doug decides to change himself for the better, leave Charlestown and start over with his new love. Unfortunately, Claire Keesley, played by Rebecca Hall finds out that he was one of the robbers who held her hostage, and their relationship is changed forever. In the end, Doug changes his life around but one big piece of his plan is missing, Claire. He will always love her but understands that he can never be with her because of what he did in his past. One scene I will never forget is when Doug is preparing to leave Charlestown to start over his life, he visits the owner of the flower shop who is also the leader of the gang and kills him. This was an amazing movie, very real and I believe captured the life of a Boston gangster realisticly. Click here to return to the Table of Contents
