4 Terminology Preschool: children ages 3-5 years old
Learning Center: activity area or section of a room which is arranged by function or curriculum area. Learning centers provide opportunity for children to work at own interest level and at their own pace. Collage: a selection of materials mounted on a flat service Property of the AZ CTE Curriculum Consortium

5 What can preschoolers do?
Cut with scissors Print some large letters Match shapes, colors and patterns Draw people and faces with some detail More likely to share than toddlers More controlled manipulation of tools such as crayons, markers, etc. Naming artwork Property of the AZ CTE Curriculum Consortium

Remember - Provide open-ended, creative art experiences! Easel painting with a variety of paints and paintbrushes Watercolor painting Exploring and creating with clay Painting with unusual tools like toothbrushes, paint rollers, potato mashers, etc. Printing and stamping Property of the AZ CTE Curriculum Consortium

7 Art Experiences Cont. Stringing beads independently and creatively
