The machine works by flooding an enclosure that surrounds the users from the waist down, pumping air into the chamber to create air pressure which lifts them.
This meanS that user's can run at a fraction of their actual weight (between 1 and 80 per cent), meaning impact on joints and muscles is lowered - and in theory helping to provide a smooth recovery from injury or surgery.
