School Wide Culture Building Activity All students went to the gym and were counted off 1-9. Groups consisted of students from all grade levels. Within these groups, students had to learn: Everyone’s name Everyone’s grade Something about each person (sports, personality, likes/dislikes) After a few minutes with groups, the Mr. Mobelini went around the groups and asked random members to stand and introduce everyone to the entire school. The group that answered all questions about their peers correctly won a trip to Pizza Hut for lunch.

Students voiced concern about smoking in bathrooms. Our school has gone extensive renovations this year including new bathrooms. To stop smoking in the bathrooms, a reward was offered to anyone who turned in a peer caught smoking or using other tobacco products in the bathroom paid for by our principal. Also, our principal instated new discipline measures regarding smoking/tobacco use by students on campus that are much more strict.

Education: Behavior HHS Ghost Out Program:
These students were then sequestered for the remainder of the day as victims of a drunk driving accident. These students wrote their own obituary to be read by a classmate at their “Funeral Service.”
13
Education: Behavior HHS Ghost Out Program:
A “Funeral Service” was then held for the victims. The victims chose friends to read their obituaries. Students had no idea until their name was called upon to read…it was a bit shocking to most!
14
Education: Behavior HHS Ghost Out Program:
After the eulogies were read, guest speaker James Whitaker with Hazard PD spoke to students about the dangers of drunk driving. Being the week of Prom, this really hit home with many students. After the assembly, students were asked to file by a coffin and gaze in. The coffin had a mirror inside which would show the students’ reflection.

Education: Behavior BADD Hair – Don’t Care Challenge
BADD Hair Challenge took place at After Prom. After Prom is an event that begins 30 minutes after Prom ends. After Prom gives students a safe place to go have fun, play games, win prizes, eat, and most of all, BE SAFE! Students at After Prom had the chance to take the BADD Hair Challenge which was pretty interesting in Prom attire!

Conclusion Morale, Attendance, Academics, and Behavior have all been positively impacted at HHS this year. Students have bonded through activities and feel the need to not only protect each other, but also our school’s future. The Ghost Out especially had a positive impact on students. It really made them think about how decisions can hurt others.
