The Breakdown Complexity Hinders or Stalls Cloud Adoption
You have a large environment that consists of your data centers, remote locations, legacy systems, data in the cloud and you probably have applications being delivered as a service as well. It’s not just about managing all this infrastructure, it’s really about the data. You have data silos on tape, and disk, and in the public and private cloud. What it boils down to is that your data is everywhere. [Click] The struggle begins with complexity, stretched across your environment. This complexity hinders or potentially stalls your cloud adoption: What are the key challenges driving this complexity? Too many siloed solutions Too many siloed storage repositories Different processes and standards based on environment Inconsistent recovery times across IT environments SLA uncertainty after migrating workloads to new infrastructure Reduced ability to respond to data loss or breach This all causes inconsistent backup and recovery. Leaving you open to risk due to data loss. [Click] Next, moving your data between services and platforms is difficult and time consuming, leaving you with hefty data migration challenges Migrating services or platforms is tedious and complex Expensive in terms of time and capital Long ramp times Slowed return on new technologies or innovations Strategy lock-in And finally, [Click] with all this complexity, you lack control and insight around the data in your environment. Why? Because: Data is siloed, opaque and inaccessible as a whole Analysis of data is either slow or incomplete Data insights only available a slice at a time Different standards for different environments Unable to support a multi cloud strategy Lack of centralized governance and control Increased security and data loss risks [Click] Silo ? ? ? ? The Breakthrough Simply Powerful: An Advanced Data Management Platform
What you need is a single data management platform that integrates seamlessly across your on-premises and cloud infrastructure. Making AWS cloud adoption simple. [Click] A single solution allows you to achieve: UNIFIED CONSISTENT CLOUD BACKUP Which means: One solution to backup the enterprise to on-premises or AWS Data is easily and quickly recoverable anywhere, regardless of original location Rapid recovery from data loss or disaster Faster response and recovery ability Standard and consistent execution across workload and environments With one data management platform, [click] you can be agile and migrate data as needed: Which means you can: Quickly launch new services and platforms Enable rapid prototyping and agile methodology Capitalize on new and efficient technologies Eliminate strategy lock in and deliver strategic choice And with a single solution, [click] you are aware and in control of your data regardless of where it lives: Data is accessible, organized and indexed Open, non-proprietary platform enables powerful analysis and actionable insight Complete infrastructure awareness Centralized governance and control for a multi cloud strategy Stronger data security across the enterprise DATA CENTERS LEGACY SYSTEMS CLOUD DATA SaaS Data Management Platform: Indexed Virtual Repository Dedupe: Global, Secure GAIN: AWARENESS, CONTROL AND INSIGHT Data is accessible, organized and indexed Open, non-proprietary platform enables powerful analysis and actionable insight Complete infrastructure awareness Centralized governance and control for a multi cloud strategy Stronger data security across the enterprise GAIN: UNIFIED CONSISTENT CLOUD BACKUP Single solution to backup the enterprise Data is easily and quickly recoverable anywhere, regardless of original location Rapid recovery from data loss or disaster Faster response and recovery ability Standard and consistent execution across workload and environments GAIN: POWERFUL, AGILE DATA MIGRATION Quickly launch new services and platforms Enable rapid prototyping and agile methodology Capitalize on new and efficient technologies Eliminate strategy lock in and deliver strategic choice

Rationalize your cloud strategy
You’re entering phase two of cloud adoption — essentially, the “rationalization” phase or the “operationalization” phase. You want to get your data to the cloud quickly without compromising security. Commvault enables fast, secure and scalable movement of data off-site, and delivers secure enterprise controls for public/hybrid cloud. You need cost-effective disaster recovery for workloads that can’t justify traditional DR. The cloud is the ideal infrastructure, but DR in the cloud is complex. Our solution enables you to control disaster recovery costs with seamless public cloud integration, cross-platform recovery, and automation of in-cloud recovery workflows. You have to move your workloads to the cloud faster. With Commvault cloud migration capabilities, you can streamline and automate the migration of on-prem workloads, greatly accelerating your time to value. And finally, you can move workloads and applications from another cloud to AWS to maintain cost-effectiveness and agility for your business. Let’s take a closer look at each element of a rationalized cloud strategy. Move your data to and from the cloud
Get to the cloud faster. This has been the theme of the previous wave of cloud adoption, and it isn’t going away. You need a solution that has cloud capabilities built in natively. Cloud capabilities are built in to Commvault software natively for both cloud storage and cloud compute use cases with AWS and others. Commvault supports more cloud platforms than any other major vendor. This includes native support for 21 different cloud storage targets (the most cloud storage connectors in the industry), and integrated management of AWS and Azure compute instances. Commvault delivers a “best fit” approach to including a cloud platform in the overall data protection strategy. Competing vendors deliver a one-size-fits-all solution, forcing customers into a single technology or approach. This leads to added costs, added risk and added complexity. Customers should care about the application SLAs, not the underlying technology Backup, archive & replication Portability to move out of the cloud On premises recovery and data management Automated recovery in the cloud Enterprise Cloud Backup Unify backup, recovery and archive operations across on-premises to cloud Provide native AWS integration for any workload for backup or archive Eliminate complex and expensive cloud gateways Synchronize and migrate workloads on a schedule, for a point in time, or ongoing. Leverage cloud infrastructure for tape replacement Replace legacy disaster recovery strategies Backup, recovery and archive native cloud workloads within the cloud 67% improvement in average recovery time* * IDC Value Survey of Commvault Customers

Execute disaster recovery in the cloud
How can you Operationalize disaster recovery in the cloud? Cloud storage platforms have been an attractive place to implement disaster recovery for several years — however, to date, most of the time that just means using cloud storage as an off-site storage target — the implication here being that, once data is sent off-site to the cloud for disaster recovery, more work is needed to actually make that data readily recoverable in the event of a disaster. This means scripts, and manual administration and intervention, which results in an inability to meet critical recovery SLAs, putting the business is at risk. When a true disaster occurs, you may find your DR solution, at best, takes longer than you expected to work and, at worst, is not recoverable in the way you thought. You need a truly automated end-to-end cloud data management solution. Many customers like you are investing in Cloud DR today, trying to operationalize their cloud strategy. Rather than simply dumping data wholesale into the cloud and hoping for the best, you need to take a hard look at what applications and data go into the cloud, and how they will be recovered when needed. With Commvault and AWS, you can: Use cloud storage and compute to reduce disaster recovery costs Augment disaster recovery with in-cloud recovery Provide “on-demand” disaster recovery options with elastic, cloud resources Deliver agile cloud migration for service level needs Orchestrate disaster recovery end-to-end with complete awareness, governance, and control Realize up to 55% reduction in annual unplanned downtime* Disaster Recovery with Agile Recovery and Migration Use cloud storage and compute to reduce disaster recovery costs Augment disaster recovery with in-cloud recovery Provide “on-demand” disaster recovery options with elastic, cloud resources Deliver agile cloud migration for service level needs Orchestrate disaster recovery end-to-end with complete awareness, governance, and control 55% reduction in annual unplanned downtime* On premises (Production site) Data to the cloud Public cloud (DR site) * IDC Value Survey of Commvault Customers

Gain Awareness, Insight & Control for the Enterprise
By working with Commvault and AWS, you will no longer need to manually adjust policy settings. Instead, you will be able to automate and enforce standards from a master policy document, with AWS specifics already taken into account. Move your data to the AWS, back on-premises, while keeping control with a single platform. But more importantly, you ensure all your mission-critical data that was on-premises and now in the cloud adheres to the same high standards for security and governance you had before. Moving to a single data platform approach, you can achieve: 42% reduction in annual spending on data infrastructure, software, services, and compliance* 47% reduction in weekly administrative hours across cloud, disaster recovery (DR), backup, snapshots, discovery, reporting, and scripts* 15-30% reduction in data management point solutions* Centralized Governance and Control for the Hybrid Datacenter Automatically create and enforce policies as you move data from any infrastructure to AWS and back IDC study validates the single data platform approach: 42% reduction in annual spending on data infrastructure, software, services, and compliance* 47% reduction in weekly administrative hours across cloud, disaster recovery (DR), backup, snapshots, discovery, reporting, and scripts* 15-30% reduction in data management point solutions* * IDC Value Survey of Commvault Customers
