CHARM facility update 23/04/2015

1st year Construction of the facility has been finished last year on the 9th of October Intensive commissioning period from 10/10/2015 during 1 month First operation period has been performed from 12/11/2014 to 15/12/2014 (≈ 1 month) Within this period we made radiation tests for 10 users on 14 different equipment (in parallel)

Dedicated test position
1st Run Analysis Radiation levels at the different locations are being analysed Benchmarking is being performed between experimental measurements (RadMON / BLM) and Fluka simulations Results have been provided to the users TID 1 MeV neutron eq. fluence HEH fluence Dedicated test position Radiation test period

Winter Shutdown From 15/12/2014 to about Mid-April 2015 → Winter Shutdown Dedicated to the upgrade of the facility – Main activities: Montrac upgrade → Allow for a proper connection with the cable holder chain Revolver redesign and upgrade of the control system → Allow for a better accuracy Movable shielding → Bug with the switches solved EN/EL activities (light, new cabling, activities inside the facility) → Done (activities outside still to be done) Reception / Test / finalization of the installation for the AGV → Tests with the cables holder chains See video Repair of the Mantion System + new variators for the motor + speed adjustement for the conveyers Dry run station for water cooling finished And others… →
