General Information Costal region makes up about 45 % of the total land area of the state Wetlands are the dominate feature Usually subdivided into the Outer Coastal Plain and the Inner Costal Plains

Inner and Outer Coastal Plains
The most westerly boundary is the Fall Line. The Inner Plains are at a higher elevation and are better drained. Most of the region’s wetlands are in the Outer Plains
