2 Experiencing Feudalism
Goal: have a working understanding of feudalism Kind of ranks, where there’s someone on the top and they all serve the person above them, and the people on the very bottom are easy to replace The monarch at the top gives land to the lords, the lords pay the knights with food! The knights protect the lords, and the serfs. Serfs: semi-slaves, do whatever the lords tell them to do, they receive protection from knight and lord, get to live on the land THEY CANNOT LEAVE What was life like in a feudal society? Serfs: Kinda sucked, we just made food. Knights: I got to stab people! I got to serve and protect! Lords: I kinda just stood around and waited for people to have the food ready, and I took the food. Had to make sure everyone was productive Monarchs: Pretty dope, you sit in a comfy chair, don’t get killed that often

3 Experiencing Feudalism
Goal: have a working understanding of feudalism Serfs have to harvest food for knights and owners of the manor things and the knights get to kill them if they don’t do their job It’s kinda like the serfs get to live if they make food And they die if they don’t. The king gets respect, loyalty, money and power Lords own the servants! They get the land! Don’t they get somewhat fair amount of food? Knights get power to kill, food Serfs get the right to live on the land, get protection What was life like in a feudal society? Serfs: Hard  Painful, rough Knights: Fun, super hard just watching the people die WHEN I KILLED THEM ALL Lords: Very fun threatening peasants, Simple Monarchs: Pretty boring.
