2. What did Christ do when He died
What did Christ do when He died? He went down into the darkness and absolute helplessness of death. He gave up a life that was without sin; a life that was God-given; a life that was beautiful and precious; and He said, ‘I will give it into the hands of my Father if He asks it’: and He did it; and He was there in the grave waiting on God to do His will; and because He honored God to the uttermost in His helplessness, God lifted Him up to the very uttermost of glory and power…

3. Like an apple tree among the trees of Listen! My lover! the forest Look! Here he comes, is my lover among the young men. leaping across the mountains, I delight to sit in his shade, My lover spoke and said to me, and his fruit is sweet to my taste. Arise, my darling, my beautiful He has taken me to the banquet hall, one, and come with me and his banner over me is love. [Song 2:8,10] Strengthen me with raisins, refresh me with apples, for I am faint with love [Song 2:3-5]

4. Self turned to God is the glory of allowing the Creator to reveal Himself in us. Self turned away from God is the very darkness and fire of hell

6. Vv. 16, 17a Out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His spirit in your inner being… …so that Christ may dwell in your heart through faith. Vv. 17b,18 …that you, being rooted and established in love… …may have power, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ V 20. Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to His power that is at work within us

7. Job 11:7-9
Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty? They are higher than the heavens-what can you do? They are deeper than the depths of the grave-what can you know? Their measure is longer than the earth and wider than the sea.

8. Do you think God’s love is not enough for you?
Are you so far away from God that you think His love is not wide enough to embrace you?
Or do you think you have been so long in particular sin that His love is not long enough to reach you?
Perhaps you think that His love is so high up that you cannot reach it, but…
Do you know that it is deep enough to reach the depths you think you have sunk to?

9. What is this power? It is the power to express the love God has for us to others. It is the power to shamelessly declare to all and sundry that God is your Lover and you are His bride.

10. You are only as powerful as the amount of God’s love you allow to dwell in you.

11. John 17: 26
I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.
