What is furniture? Furniture is the mass noun for the movable objects intended to facilitate various human activities such as seating and sleeping in beds, to hold objects at a convenient height for work using horizontal surfaces above the ground, or to store things. Furniture can be a product of design and is considered a form of decorative art. Furniture can be made from many materials, including metal, plastic and wood.

LISSONE The city of furniture
During the 13th century, the craft sector started developing in the area. After a long period of crisis, the demand for furniture increased and the citizens of Lissone began to build furniture on commission in their spare time. In the Napoleonic era the furniture craft consolidated definitively.
