2 Carpooling Definition - When two or more people ride in the same vehicle. People who carpool save money on gas and other travel expenses They also save gas Park and ride lots are a perfect place to carpool, you can meet others there and drive together

3 Biking and walking Good exercise Saves money Saves gas
No traffic (except for the occasional baby stroller) Good for the environment

4 Public Transportation
Definition- When people use buses, trolleys, etc. that are provided by the city or state that they are in. A lot of people can ride on one bus or trolley, that saves the city or state money It also saves from each individual car burning gas

5 Vanpooling Definition - When five or more people ride together in a passenger van. They save money and gas These vans can drive in the HOV (high occupancy vehicle) lane.

6 Organization The Memphis Area Commuter Club Rideshare Program is a federally funded program through the congestion mitigation air quality program

7 Other Info Nashville has been one of the most congested cities in the nation. The typical Middle Tennessee motorist wastes more than 7 workdays a year waiting in rush hour traffic
