Base Salary $133,000 Works to safeguard the rights of citizens, consumers, and commmunities Monitors Charities Helps provide assistance to victims of violent crimes. Assists local states attorneys in prosecuting criminals. Provides legal representation to elected officials and government agencies. Duties Attorney General

Secretary of State - Jesse White
Base Salary $133,000 Maintains official records for General Assembly and for Executive Branch. Issues license plates, car titles, and drivers’ licenses. Investigates vehicle theft and odometer fraud. Administers the organ donor program. Registers corporations Oversees the state library and maintains records of legal or historical value. Duties Secretary of State

State Comptroller – Judy Barr Topinka
Base Salary $115,300 Maintains fiscal (monetary) records for the state. In charge of payments from and deposits to state accounts. Pays the states bills Duties Comptroller

State Treasurer – Dan Rutherford
Base Salary $115,300 State’s banker Keeps track of all money held and invested by the state Invests in projects that create jobs in Illinois Provides funding for social service organization. Works to provide financial education of students and adults. Duties Treasurer

Qualifications Term of Office 21 years old
Live in district you are representing for 2 years prior to election. Qualifications Senators: Senators from each district are split into 3 groups and elected every 2 or 4 years so 1/3 of senate is up for election every 2 years. Representatives: 2 years Term of Office

Highest state court 7 members Elected for 10 year terms State Supreme Court Hear appeals from the circuit court State is divided into 5 districts for the Appellate court Elected for 10 year terms State Appellate Court Cases are tried in the Circut Court first State is divided into 23 circuits (areas) Chief judge elected for 6 years.
