In the past two decades, we have seized the opportunities of China’s reform and rapid ICT development. Driven by customer-centric innovation and open partnerships, Huawei has won the respect and trust of customers, growing from a private enterprise with initial capital of only CNY21,000 to a global company, ranking 228 in Fortune 500. In 2015, Huawei achieved sales revenue of about US$60.1 billion dollars. Our innovative ICT solutions, products and services are used in more than 170 countries and regions, serving over one-third of the world’s population. Huawei has established a global operation platform that fully consolidates quality resources to create a globalized value chain, sharing the value generated at each node in the chain with global customers. Huawei has 176,000 employees scattered across more than 150 countries and regions. About 72% of employees outside China are locals. Innovations based on customer needs and new industry technologies make the company secure a leading edge in the ICT industry. We invest more than 10% of our sales revenue in R&D. More than 45% of 176,000 employees are engaged in innovations, research, and development. By December 31, 2015, Huawei had joined over 300 standards organizations, industry alliances, and open-source communities, and held more than 280 important positions, including a board member in IEEE-SA, ETSI, WFA, TMF, OpenStack, Linaro, OASIS, and CCSA. In 2015 alone, we submitted more than 5,400 proposals, amounting to 43,000 proposals. Huawei has accumulated 50,377 authorized patents, and filed 52,550 patent applications in China and 30,613 applications outside China. 90% of the patents are utility patents. Customer-centric continuous innovations are the driving forces of Huawei’s steady growth. Thanks to its continuous investments in R&D, Huawei has been widely recognized as an innovative company.
