When we read God’s word we receive from God the things that we need to live a fruitful live to Him.
2 Tim. 3:16-17 – scripture is profitable to thoroughly equip man 2 Peter 1:2-3 – God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness

When we read God’s word we receive the instructions we need.
Rom. 15:4 – things were written for our learning 1 Cor. 10:11 – things were written for our admonition Eph. 3:1-7 – we can understand the mystery of Christ James 1:21-25 – receive the word, be a hearer word and a doer of the work

When we read God’s word, we read of His promises to man. 2 Peter 1:4 – God has given that we may be partakers of the divine nature

Physical promises: Gen. 8:22 – cold and heat will not cease Matt. 5:45 – the sun and rain are for all

Gen. 12:6-7 – Abram was promised the land that we was passing through Deut. 28:1-14 – God’s promised that He would bless the Israelites if they were faithful to the Law

Spiritual promises: Gen. 3:15 – the promise that man will triumph over the serpent Deut. 18:15-18 – the promise of a new prophet Is. 9:6-7 – the promise of a government Zech. 6:12-13 – the promise of a king and priest

Cor. 15:55-56 – O Death, where is your sting? John 8:25-29 – “I have many things to say and to judge…” Heb. 12:28 – we are receiving a kingdom Heb. 7-8 – we have a King and High Priest

The last promise that we will read about is found in John 14:1-3. Vs. 1 – is an encouragement Vs. 2 – is the promise of a home Vs. 3 – is the promise of a reception

Rev. 22:1-5 – a picture of the fulfillment of this promise

Exceedingly Great and Precious Promises
How many promises of man have you heard in your life? Have they all been kept? How many of the promises that were kept were truly exceedingly great and precious? Won’t you trust in the promises of God.
