For the purposed of this presentation, User Name will be that part of your address before sign.

Your User Name should be easy for you and others to remember.
Consider that your User Name is one of the first things others will know about you.

5. Steps for choosing a User Name
Restrictions
Some names are "reserved". The following cannot be used as usernames:
names of existing users
titles of certain pages on this site, such as Google Mail, User, Logon, etc. etc.
User names cannot consist entirely of digits
User names cannot begin with space or underscore
User names cannot contain any of these characters: < > | [ ]

6. Choose a User Name
User Names are not case sensitive. They can contain upper and or lower case letters. With Gmail it does not make any difference
Remember, the letter “O” and the number zero “0” can be confusing in an address.
Do it: Write down a couple of User names you want to try when you set up your new Gamil account.

7. Choose a Password
Remember: You want to keep your password “secret”. Do not share it with anyone.
YOU must remember your password. To a limited extent, Gmail may be able to help you “remember” your password, but they cannot “see” your password.
Your Gmail password IS CASE SENSITIVE!!
Your Gmail password must be at least eight (8) characters in length.
Your Gmail password should be a combination of letters, numbers and special characters

8. Choose a Password
Do it!! Write down a password with at least eight (8) characters.
It should be easy for you to remember
Keep a well organized list of your passwords!!!!!!!
