Check-in procedures Transition Area Bike check: handlebars & wheels (non authorized UCI wheels rule) Helmet check- Helmet on the bike-do not leave your helmet fastened in the transition The athlete who does not comply with this rule will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1. ELITE WOMEN: Running Shoes outside the box, helmet on the bike ELITE MEN: Running Shoes will remain in the box Spare wheels to the Transition 2 To add any equipment to the bike, you must obtain approval from the Race Referee up until 10 minutes after the end of the Athletes‘ Briefing. <Insert Event Logo>

11 Pre-start Procedure Athlete Introduction:
10 minutes before start - line-up in Transition 1 Jog to the pontoon Select your position and stay behind the line! Athlete blocking more than one place will result in DSQ

Start Procedure Athletes in position: The start can be given any time after the Starter announces ”On your mark” Horn blast The race starts Athletes not moving forward at the start will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1. <Insert Event Logo>

False start Example 1: Several horn blasts Kayaks in front of you Everyone goes back to her/his spot False start Example 2: If someone starts before the horn and everyone else starts with the horn, the athlete who false started will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1. 24 Run Penalty Box The penalty box is for infringements in: TA1, bike and TA2 Mount before mount line, dismount after dismount line, discharge or store your equipment outside your designated area, rack the bike outside your own space etc. Location: 50m before the Transition Area 2/Finish chute Information: White board to show race numbers (Athletes need to read the board – coaches are advised to check and inform their athletes-Coaches Box) Procedure: 10 second time penalty served on any lap of the run If you do not take the penalty- DSQ

25 Run Penalty Box Rule interpretation
Mount after the mount line: There has to be contact of one of the athlete’s feet with the floor after the mount line. If this contact doesn’t occur the action is considered as mount the bike before the mount line. Dismount before the dismount line: It has to be contact of one of the athlete’s feet with the floor before the dismount line. If this contact doesn’t occur the action is considered as dismount the bike before the dismount line. Discharge or store your equipment inside your designated area: Leaving the equipment (swim cap, goggles, helmet, etc.) in the designated box. Rack the bike inside your own space: In case of Traditional bike rack, the bike must be racked with at least one side of the handlebar or the seat-post with 0,5m to the name plate. In case of Individual bike race, the bike must be racked with the front wheel to the designated rack.

27 Ambush Marketing Rules
Ambush marketing is defined as: “Deliberately using the opportunity of live television and media photographers to acquire additional exposure for your sponsor product, apparel or brand.” The consequence for this behavior is: The athlete will immediately forfeit their prize money for that event. <Insert Event Logo>

Post-race Procedures Anti-Doping Control Photo ID is needed by every athlete for Doping Control Medical Only team medical officials are allowed in this area. Every NF can have 1 team medical upgade pass, but only for team doctors! <Insert Event Logo>

Coaches areas Accreditation All coaches have to collect accreditation to be able to enter the venue. Only Coaches who have been registered by their NF through the ITU online system are entitled to a accreditation pass. Additional sport-specific coaches areas Behind swim exit/Transition 1/coaches lane-Transition2/Finish-Coaches Box-Penalty Box-Run Upgrade pass needed to enter these areas. Passes are given by NF according to the number of athletes entered. 1-3 athletes = 2 pass, 4-6 athletes = 3 passes, 7-9 athletes = 4 passes, athletes = 5 passes <Insert Event Logo>

Important Updates Coaches Shuttles Immediately after the last Woman athlete has departed Transition 1, the shuttle buses will depart from the start venue (mount line), first come-first served. Approximate time: 13:55. The shuttles will run to the drop-off zone- opposite side of the Finish venue-Granger Boulevard. Return trip from same, for the Men’s event at 1450. Depart for Finish venue after last Man athlete departed Transition 1-approximate time15:45. Please note- all shuttles are one trip only. <Insert Event Logo>
