MSc in Global Development: Overview
Global Development is a research strength at UCPH The expertise ranges from social, economic and political conditions of the individual to global issues regarding culture, governance, human health, natural resources, environment, trade and stability (development.ku.dk) The Global Development programme is ambitious, providing advanced theoretical and in-the-field training The programme is structured as a unique combination of compulsory first-year courses and plenty of scope for individual tailoring of the programme in the second year All students go on a three-week field course to a low- or middle-income country guided by lecturers with solid fieldwork experience Many candidates will go on to jobs in private companies that interact with the Global South. Others will find employment in institutions and organisations engaged in international issues 21. January 2014

Global Development Careers Many candidates will go on to jobs in private companies, who interact with the Global South There is considerable potential for Danish production companies, service businesses and consultants in the global markets, especially in the BRIC countries and in the new growth countries (Next 11) Other graduates will find employment in institutions and organizations engaged in development work and more international issues Candidates can work as consultants, advisers, project managers or analysts in businesses, organizations and authorities involved in international and/or development activities The programme can also lead to a research career within global development 21.
