2 Where is our fresh water from?
Most rain falls in the northern part of California. Most people live in the southern part of California. Drought: long period of dry weather

3 Where is our fresh water from?
About one-third of our fresh water comes from aquifers. Reclamation: to make usable again Reclamation plants filter and clean used water. 3

4 How is our fresh water supplied?
Water is moved throughout the state (especially from the north to the south) through aqueducts (man-made channels built to move water). 4

5 How can we save water? More than half of California’s water:
soaks into the ground evaporates is used by plants We need to conserve (save) water. 5
