4 Mission Statement The Appleton Youth Football Association (AYFA) is a non-profit organization that offers an instructional football program for youth in grades 6th through 8th. AYFA is dedicated to teaching the youth of our community the fundamentals and proper techniques of tackle football. The AYFA is committed to teaching the skills and strategies of the game in accordance with USA Football’s Heads Up Program. Heads Up Tackling and Blocking has been continually proven to make the game Safer and Better for all participants and is endorsed nationally by all levels of football. Our emphasis is on developing physical fitness, sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership skills in a positive and safe environment.  We strive to provide opportunities for all participants to develop individual skills and abilities while being a contributing member of a team. It is important to AYFA that we provide a way for our athletes to build lasting friendships, great memories, and have fun!

5 Coaches Statement COACHING PHILOSOPHY
The coaches are dedicated to promoting the core values of the Organization.  Wins and losses are not a priority for our coaches; developing life skills and individual character are what guides our coaching decisions and actions. Coaches are expected to lead by example in both words and actions on and off the football field.   Coaches accept responsibility for the development of our athletes as both players and persons while under their direction.  Our goal is to be an organization that not only develops Appleton youth football players that parents and coaches will be proud of but also guides our athletes to become positive contributors to any team. All coaches are expected to commit to continuing education via high school coaching staffs and any available resources recommended by AYFA Board. We recognize that coaches are the people who most directly make this all possible. It is the goal of the AYFA to provide every coach with the tools to succeed as a Positive Coach. We are committed to creating a positive culture, in which coaches, parents, officials, fans, and athletes all work together to achieve our mission.
