How about some history? The Teton range was named les trois tétons, by French Voyaguers Employed by John Jacob Astor on their way to establish a fur trading post on the Pacific cost, which is now known as Astoria. The first profile was published by Wyoming in 2001, with only 160 pages. The current W.Y. profile weighs in at 680 pages. The first Nebraska profile was published in 2003 with 1,038 pages and now clocks in at 2,184 pages. In 2007, a Volume III focusing on 18 cities was added to Nebraska and now covers 31 cities. In April 2013, Nebraska released an online interactive dashboard as a companion to the profile. Wyoming released a dashboard in August 2013. Both profiles are used by a mix of residents, property managers, government officials, local and international businesses, such as: Federal Government: HUD, U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Census, U.S. House of Representatives, Bureau of Land Management, Department of Homeland Security, BLS. State and Local Government: City of Omaha, Nebraska Lotto, City of Casper, Wyoming Department of Administration and Information and many U.S. State Governments. Universities: U. of Wyoming, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, Nevada, Georgia, Notre Dame, and Vanderbilt, etc. Private Business: Local (i.e Kelly Supply in Grand Island, NE) and International (i.e. ICF International) Residents, property managers and of course NIFA and WCDA! Both profiles conduct a thorough examination of the rental vacancy market: Try to Call every rental property in the state Ask about number of units by unit type, bedroom size and how many are available Gather pricing information based on unit type and bedroom size Gauge the level on need for additional units and collect any additional comments Have reached 35,562 units in W.Y., 120,837 units in N.E., or about 51% of all rental units in the both states.
