Chris Kyle Born and raised in Texas Professional Bronco Rodeo Rider
U.S. Navy Seal Sniper Confirmed 91 kills "The Navy credits me with more kills as a sniper than any other American service member, past or present. I guess that's true. They go back and forth on what the number is. One week, it's 160 (the 'official' number as of this writing, for what that's worth), then it's way higher, then it's somewhere in between. If you want a number, ask the Navy—you may even get the truth if you catch them on the right day."

Major Themes U.S. Soldiers: How are they portrayed?
Terrorism: Post 9-11 War in the Middle East What is it like? Who is the “enemy”? How is it different/the same as what people think of when they think of war? PTSD: Who does it impact and how is it portrayed in the film?

How does this film portray these themes?
PRO CON American soldiers as heroes We needed soldiers in Iraq and the Middle East in a post 9-11 world Chris Kyle the person “I'm a better husband and father than I was a killer.” It was my duty to shoot the enemy, and I don't regret it. My regrets are for the people I couldn't save: Marines, soldiers, buddies. I'm not naive, and I don't romanticize war. The worst moments of my life have come as a SEAL. But I can stand before God with a clear conscience about doing my job. War is NOT always black and white PTSD impacts a LOT of soldiers, even ones as strong and heroic as Chris Kyle “War is hell. Hollywood fantasizes about it and makes it look good... war sucks.”
