Do now: Add to your notebook (maybe where you have your literary term of the week).
Syntax- Sentence Structure; the arrangement of words and the order of grammatical elements in a sentence. Imagery- the words or phrases including specific details and figurative language, that a writer uses to appeal to the senses. Diction: Word choice intended to convey a certain effect.

In your SB books, activity 1.2
When you think of pizza, what comes to mind? Write a paragraph describing a pizza and your attitude towards it. Be as descriptive as possible. Write your paragraph in your composition book.

Share! Share your paragraph with a partner.
4 volunteers need to share their paragraph with the class!

In groups Drawing inferences: read all 4 speakers ideas about pizza. Complete the graphic organizer as you read. Also make an inference about each speaker. When you are done, read each others pizza paragraphs. Make a chart that matches the graphic organizer and complete it for each others descriptions. Also make an inference about each speaker. Place this chart in your SB binder after the first graphic organizer!

Exit slip -- in your journal!
On a half sheet of paper, write another description using an intentional voice. At the top of the paper, write the type of voice you are using (excited, sad, tired, lazy, etc. be original!) You can describe anything that you would like, except for pizza!
