2 Audience The audience is who the author is writing to. The audience are the readers of the author's work, and often writers alter their own writing to please the audience. Usage Usage is the words a writer uses and how they use them. Writers often have trouble with their word choices, because the words used can affect the mood and feel of the writing.

Number 1: Write for yourself Editors and writers are not all the same They all want something unique and new Don't try to please others in your own writing Everyone likes different things, so don't try to please everybody.

Number 2: Be confident in your humor Don’t worry if readers don’t get your humor It can always be taken out, but only you can put it in Whoever appreciates your humor are worth writing for and everyone else just wont get it.

Number 3: Remove any grammatical errors In terms of craft, there's no reason for losing readers through sloppy workmanship Technical and grammatical errors should be fixed or removed Careless errors can loose an audience, so avoid any mistakes.

Number 4: Practice at improving writing When writing, practice the order and flow of the writing Work to master the tools of good writing, like chronological order and good word choice With solid principles down there's less of a chance to loose an audience

Number 7: Use words that are needed Focusing on concise writing can help with keeping an audience and improving word choice Writers sometimes have trouble ending ideas or sentences, the best way to improve is practice using less to get more out of the writing.

Number 8 : know the difference between synonyms Different circumstances affect the meanings of words Affect is a VERB and EFFECT is a noun You can also find better words by finding synonyms of weaker words

Number 9 : make your writing EXCITING Use descriptive and unique words, even in formal writing Make a point concisely and easily

Number 10 : let your writing be natural Don't use choppy, uninteresting sentences Be yourself Prove your points cleanly and neatly

13 Now you try! On a separate sheet of paper write about an experience you've had, what you learned, and what happened. Make sure it is in a formal writing format. Use the 10 tips to improve your writing. ( half the page) Then on the second half of the sheet, write without formal writing rules, be yourself and write how you would any it to a friend
